Premium Surfboard Traction Pad [Color Options] for Surfing or Skimboarding
Category: ho stevie surfboard sock
I'm Stevie, and this is my wife B. We are at our San Diego surf shop, ready to answer any of your questions. Where does the name "Ho Stevie!" come from? It's kind of a Hawaiian slang to say "ho" instead of "hey". So my buddy would always come over to my house and say "Ho Stevie let's go surf!"
How did we get our start? Our first product was a mouth mount for GoPro cameras, so surfers could capture their POV while keeping their hands free for surfing. From there, we added more surf gear, one thing at a time... fins, leashes, traction pads, board socks, etc.
What makes our products unique? I surf with these products every day. I want to bring you the best quality gear, with the best value, and best service.
Why Choose Ho Stevie!? Because We Actually Care About You.
Installing Rear Traction Pad on Surfboard: 1. Carefully remove old traction pad. 2. For a new surfboard: wipe it down with some water (or Windex) and paper towel. Scrape the wax off with a wax scraper. 3. Slowly peel off the old traction pad with the help of a razor blade. 4. Remove any residue from the old traction pad. The tail needs to be perfectly clean, otherwise the traction pad won't stick properly. (Surfboard wax remover IS NOT recommended, as it leaves oil.) 5. Remove any residue with acetone or a similar product. 6. Lay out the pieces and trace the outline onto your surfboard to find the perfect position before sticking the pads permanently. Place them back against the leash plug directly over the fins. 7. Peel off the backing on the pads, line them up with what you traced, and carefully press them onto your surfboard. Press firmly all over the pads to ensure proper adhesion. 8. Wait 24 hours before surfing to allow for proper adhesion.
Can I use these pads with a soft top surfboard? For sure! These can be used with Ho Stevie! or any other brand of soft top surfboards. But sometimes the traction pad doesn't adhere perfectly to the foam. You might need to use superglue if you see your traction pad peeling off.
Are these suitable for wake surf boards? Yes, our traction pads can be used for wakesurf boards, and skimboards too. We've also seen our traction pads getting popular with the OneWheel community.
What kind of adhesive do these pads have? We use powerful 3M Adhesive, so the traction pads won't peel off your surfboard.
How tall/thick is the kick? The kick measures 1" high, so you can really dig in with your back foot for powerful turns.
